What do I Purchase ? |

Sentry-go is designed to be a flexible solution, both in the way it works and
also how you can purchase it. There are a number of options available, depending
on what you want to monitor, the number of servers and the size of your
organisation. You can always build up your monitoring solution and add to it as
your needs change.

With Sentry-go, you only purchase monitoring
related & optional components. Many other aspects of the product, including
the following are provided free when you download one or more monitoring

What do you want to monitor ? |
This is really the first question to ask. Consider the generic or
specific monitoring needs of your servers. Sentry-go is a component-based
monitoring solution, meaning that you only purchase the monitoring
options you will use on your servers.
For more standard environments, consider a Quick Monitor solution. These provide the most likely
monitoring options you will want for theat particular environment.

Add the Enterprise Option
|
The Enterprise Option, as the name suggests, is an optional
component. It is not needed to run any monitor, nor do you need it if you simply
wish to log triggered alerts to a database.
However, its a great addition if you want to record status & alerting
information & view details from all monitors within the environment from single
dedicated reports. With drill down options & quick links to other reports, the
Enterprise Option is an ideal tool for troubleshooting & spotting problem
trends, especially for larger organisations or where you have more than a
handful of monitored servers.

Components, Quick Monitor, or both ?
|
Sentry-go monitoring components can be purchased as pre-configured
Quick Monitors, as individual monitoring components, or as a combination of the two ...
|
- If you're monitoring a standard software environment, or wish to use more
generic monitoring features, consider using a Quick Monitor. Quick Monitors come
pre-configured with monitoring components typcially required for given software
environments including SQL Server, Exchange, IIS Web & File & Print monitoring.

Monitors
- You can also purchase components, known as "Plus! components" individually.
These are ideal when creating a more tailored solution - the Sentry-go Plus! Quick Monitor, or when you wish to perform
targeted monitoring of a specific area.

- Alternatively you can combine the two. Choose the most appropriate Quick Monitor
that provides most of the monitoring requirements for the server, then add on or
more Plus! components to it to tailor it that little bit more.
Quick Monitor v6.x and Plus! Monitor components v6.x are fully compatible.

Licencing
|
Sentry-go operates based on the licence options configured for each monitor.
During an evaluation, you have access to a free 21-day licence which enables all
appropriate functionality for the chosen components/monitors. After this, you
simply purchase the licence(s) required to activate the appropriate monitor
- a Quick Monitor, Plus! components or both, as described above
In most cases, you can choose from the following licencing options ...

- Indvidual licences.
Simply purchase the number of licences required to cover your server(s).
Discounts are available & automatically included when you purchase on-line. For
every 5 copies of the same monitoring component or Quick Monitor purchased,
you automatically receive the 5th copy free.
- Site Licences.
We recommend purchasing a site licence if you have a larger number of servers
you wish to monitor using the same component(s). A site licence covers an individual company, including all physical locations
owned by the company. The Sentry-go Plus! monitoring component or Quick
Monitor can be installed on any number of PCs or
servers owned by that company at one of these physical locations.
- Global Licence.
Purchase a global licence for the ultimate in flexibility, ideal for larger
organisations. A global licence provides any number of copies of all available monitoring
components to an individual company.
