Product upgrades are offered to registered Sentry-go customers at a significant discount, or free depending on the versions you are upgrading from and to ...

• Minor Product Versions
   
  Minor version updates are available to registered Sentry-go customers free of charge. For example, if you have a full (non-evaluation) licence for v6.1, you can upgrade at no extra cost to v6.2 or v6.3 etc., as they become available. These are available for the lifetime of the major version.
  
  Simply download the latest  version from our web site and either select "Upgrade" when prompted by the Setup Wizard (in order to retain existing settings), or use your existing licence key details.

• Major Product Versions
   
  If you are upgrading to a new major version, you can upgrade your existing licence at a significant discount over the standard price.
   
  Please note that Sentry-go v5.x licences are fully compatible with newer v6.x monitors. Customers with v5.x licences can upgrade to the equivalent v6.x monitor free of charge.

• Upgrade Paths & Options
   

  Upgrading from Sentry-go Quick Monitor v4.x to equivalent v6.x ...	Upgrade Now
  Due to technical changes from earlier v4.x monitors, it is not possible to directly transfer your existing configuration settings. However, it is possible to install both v4.x and v6.x monitors on the same machine so that these settings can be compared.
  Upgrading from Sentry-go Plus! v1.x & v2.x to equivalent v6.x options ...	Free to upgrade. Use current licence.
  Upgrading from Sentry-go v5.x to equivalent v6.x ...	Free to upgrade. Use current licence.

• Users with a customised version
   
  If you have a customised version of Sentry-go Plus! or a Sentry-go Quick Monitor, we recommend that you do not upgrade automatically as your customisations may be lost. In this case, please contact Support@Sentry-go.com for more information before proceeding. 

• Product Retirements
   
  Where the existing product is no longer available, an equivalent product, with either the same or greater functionality is normally available.

To upgrade your Sentry-go monitoring software to a later release simply follow these steps ...

• If you need to upgrade your licence key (see above), you can upgrade them on-line now.

• Next, simply download the latest version of your product from our web site. 

• Verify it operates correctly on your environment by running it on a test server. We recommend that you check that your current monitoring checks & alerting options continue to work in a test environment before upgrading your live software.

• Finally, run the Setup Wizard on your current system to perform the upgrade. Where appropriate, the Wizard will detect the existing product and prompt you accordingly.
  
  Please note: Due to technical changes from earlier v4.x monitors, it is not possible to upgrade or transfer your existing configuration settings. However, it is possible to install both v4.x and v6.x monitors on the same machine so that these settings can be compared.
   
  If you are upgrading from v5.x to v6.x, you have the option of converting/retaining your existing settings during the upgrade process.
