Product upgrades are offered to registered Sentry-go customers at a significant discount, or free depending on the versions you are upgrading from and to ...

• If you are upgrading within the same major version - e.g. v4.1 to v4.2 or v4.x, and you have previously purchased a full (non-evaluation) licence, then the upgrade is free. Simply download the lateest  version from our web site and either select "Upgrade" when prompted by the Setup Wizard or use your existing licence details.

• Upgrades from Sentry-go Plus! v1.x or v2.x to the Sentry-go Monitoring System v5.x are free.

• If you are upgrading to a new major version - e.g. v4.3 to v5.0 or v5.x, then you can upgrade at a significant discount over the standard price.

• Sentry-go Quick Monitors v4.x

Depending on your current installed Sentry-go version, discounts are available for those who wish to upgrade ...

• If you are upgrading from Sentry-go Plus! v1.x or v2.x, you can do so free of charge.
   
  Simply download the latest version from our web site and run the Setup Wizard. When prompted, select "Upgrade". Your existing licence will be accepted & your current settings retained.
   
  The existing Sentry-go Plus! solution will be upgraded to the Sentry-go Monitoring System & associated services.
    
• If you are upgrading from a Sentry-go Quick Monitor v4.x AND DO NOT WISH TO RETAIN SETTINGS, you can upgrade your current Quick Monitor licences at a discount now.
   
  To upgrade, simply purchase an upgrade licence for the appropriate components from the web site, contact 3Ds (UK) Limited or your software reseller. You will need to enter your existing licence information.
   
  Once purchased, you can download the latest version from our web site and run the Setup Wizard. When prompted, enter your new licence key(s).

•  If you are upgrading from a Sentry-go Quick Monitor v4.x AND WISH TO RETAIN YOUR EXISTING SETTINGS, you cannot upgrade at the present time. Due to technical changes between Sentry-go Quick Monitors v4.x and v5.x, the two configurations are not directly compatible.
   
  You can still evaluate v5.x to see all the new features and benefits the latest version will bring by downloading a free 21-day evaluation from the web site.
   
  We are currently working on an upgrade path that will allow v.4 x configuration settings to be upgraded to the new format. As soon as this is available, you will be able to upgrade your Quick Monitor v4.x to the latest v5.x product at a discounted price.
    
• If you have a customised version of Sentry-go Plus! or a Sentry-go Quick Monitor, do not upgrade automatically as your customisations may be lost. Please contact Support@Sentry-go.com for more information before proceeding.

To upgrade your Sentry-go monitoring software to a later release simply follow these steps ...

• If you need to upgrade your licence key (see above), you can upgrade it now.

• Download the latest version of your product from our web site. 

• Verify it operates correctly on your environment by running it on a test server. We recommend that you check that your current tests & alerting options continue to work in a test environment before upgrading your live software.

• Run the Setup Wizard on your current system. Where appropriate, the Wizard will detect the upgrade and prompt you to retain your existing settings, or install default values.

• Install the Sentry-go Monitoring System on a server
• Install the Sentry-go Monitoring System Client tools on a server or desktop PC
• Upgrade the monitoring system to the latest version
• Upgrade the server/PC from Sentry-go Plus! to the Sentry-go Monitoring System

The Wizard will guide you through the installation, either prompting for information as required, or providing default values, depending on the options specified. For upgrades from Sentry-go Plus!, the Wizard will additionally perform the following tasks ...

• Convert existing configuration settings to the latest format
• Uninstall Sentry-go Plus! services, components & desktop shortcuts
• Install new Sentry-go services & components

Following the upgrade, the previous "Sentry-go Plus!" service will be replaced by the new "Sentry-go Monitoring Service" in Windows services. Directories & configruation files will also be renamed accordingly.
