The Sentry-go Plus! Print monitor allows you to monitor the status of local
printers & print queues. If a printer stops working, is left in manual feed, a
print queue grows longer than expected, or even a larger than expected print job
is submitted, you can be informed quickly and automatically. If faults are
detected, automatic action can be taken (e.g. to take the printer offline or
redirect a print queue) and/or alerts can be raised.

Despite the use of technology, e-mail & electronic content, the ability to print
is still as popular with users as it's ever been.
|
Unfortunately, this is also an area that can so easily go wrong - from simply
"no paper", to someone choosing a "custom" paper format and then going home -
leaving the printer waiting for a manual feed, or simply submitting the wrong
(huge) document to a local printer.
Being aware of problems and faults early allows you to resolve issues more
quickly, or simply direct the user who's phoned in to the resolution without the
need to ask technical questions (they probably won't phone from the printer!)
Using the Sentry-go Plus! Print Monitor, the status of locally connected printers/queues can be
verified and one or more System Administrator(s) or support personnel alerted to
problems the moment they arise. Alternatively, Sentry-go can take automatic
action in order to resolve an issue - e.g. delete or pause a large print job,
restart the printer etc.
