The Sentry-go Monitoring System is a single monitoring solution with the capability of providing monitoring a multitude of different software environments & tasks. By letting you choose which monitoring components - the "building blocks" you wish to use, it is an extremely flexible, yet cost effective solution because you only purchase the components you need.

When installed, it provides a framework for your server's monitoring, which is made up of a number of components. Some, like the auto-response, alerting & web server components are built-in and come free with the software, giving you a base into which plug in one or more monitoring components.

You can select these building blocks either as a pre-configured group, or individually using one or more Sentry-go Plus! components. Or, you can install a combination of the two, again, fully integrated into a single application. What you choose will depend on the needs of the server being monitored & how these needs may change over time.

Sentry-go provides an extremely flexible & efficient solution, allowing you to customise it to the needs of your server ...

• If you are a smaller organisation, where you have a server running both SQL and Exchange, you might choose to use the Sentry-go Quick Exchange or Quick SQL Server monitors.
   
  Or, you may simply opt to monitor SQL Locking, SQL connectivity & e-mail send/receive.

• You may wish to start off small by periodically checking disk space & Event log errors. Later on, you might add other monitoring tasks such as file & printer monitoring.

• Or, for a totally flexible approach that can be altered later by moving components around independently, you could install individual Sentry-go Plus! monitoring components on your server from day 1.

With all these approaches, you have a single unified monitoring solution running on your server. As your needs grow, so can your monitoring solution.

Each monitoring component works independently and runs locally on the server being monitored to minimise network overhead. A central client application, the Sentry-go Client Console provides unified access to one, many, or all of the monitors in your environment. With it you can view alerts & web reports as well as access & copy configuration details,  Once registered, Sentry-go interacts with each Client Console, feeding alert information and allowing configuration details to be viewed and edited. This makes it ideal for use by System Administrators, Operations or helpdesk departments.
