The Sentry-go Plus! FTP monitor allows you to remotely verify that your FTP
sites are both accessible and working correctly, allowing files to be PUT, GET
using ASCII or binary transfers or FTP commands run. In effect, automatically
emulating an FTP client. If access fails, automatic action can be taken and/or
alerts can be raised.

Facts & Features |
FTP is used extensively for the transfer of files from one machine to another.
You may use it to provide downloads from your site, or to transfer files
internally or externally to another system.
|

|
Typically, FTP sessions are run
either automatically in the background or sometimes from dedicated FTP clients.
Where background automation is used, or you have no control over the client
(e.g. if one of your customers is running it), it is often very difficult to detect faults.
In the case of an external customer, he or she will probably not report it, instead
choosing to go elsewhere on the
internet.
The Sentry-go Plus! FTP Monitor allows you to verify FTP access on the local server, just like an
FTP client would do, by periodically automatic a client's actions and analysing the
results automatically.
If the check fails, action can be taken and/or faults reported immediately.
