The first question to consider is what you should monitor ? Servers typically have one or more roles. For example, a database server, Microsoft Exchange, web server, file, application etc.. For these, the monitoring requirements you implement may be more obvious.

All Sentry-go monitors are designed with expansion in mind. They can run on individual servers, or provide enterprise-wide coverage as required.

For optimum efficiency, our server monitors operate locally. Configuration settings, however, can be accessed remotely or copied between monitors with just a few clicks of the mouse. You can access  status & alert information easily using the monitor's own built-in web reporting, or you access them from within client tools; real-time alert information can also be displayed directly from your desktop.

For larger organisations, we also offer the Sentry-go Enterprise Option, an additional tool which allows status & alert information from all monitors to be stored in a central database and accessed to generate enterprise-wide web reports. Again, these are built in and require no additional web server technology.

Enterprise reports are are ideal for trend analysis and allow you to determine whether a problem is restricted to a single server or a more serious/global issue.

Yes they might and probably will but that's not a problem with Sentry-go. Simply move your monitor or monitoring components from the old to the new machine, along with their licences, or add new licences to enable new monitoring functionality.

Installing Sentry-go is easy, using the dedicated Sentry-go Setup Wizard. With it you can install or upgrade the Sentry-go monitor, client tools as well as the Enterprise Option.

Once installed, updates & upgrades are easy to apply using the Sentry-go Remote Update Wizard. Simply upgrade one of your monitors to the new version, then let the Wizard do the rest. In just a few clicks, all your monitors will be updated across the network!
